Gregory is noted for his Ceramic; metal and art deco wares
Gregory was one of the pioneers of ceramic sculptures in America. He is also noted as pioneer of the 1950's glass movement. He executed monumental ceramic works which was exhibited at the 1939 NY World's Fair; titled: Fountain of the Atom. His many museum exhibitions included the Metropolitan, NYC and abroad and he received many awards for his sculptures. Gregory also executed thousands of art deco wares which were sold internationally. Each one is an individual as he never allowed them to be duplicated. Gregory sculptures included over 40 hand hammered lead repousee in life-size figural forms. He received the Silver Medal for The Dreamer, 1970, for one of the metal works and his last award before his untimely death in 1971.

My online life is interesting, rewarding & time consuming.
I enjoy looking at the different art works on the internet both in the US & abroad. I receive diverse emails mostly from students or teachers requesting more info on the American Waylande Gregory and his ceramics or on the ton size works titled: 1939 NY World's Fair Fountain of the Atom. Sometimes the requested information is on the WPA era as he was Director of Sculpture for the State of N.J. and is noted for an 81 foot wall for Wash., DC, which includes 50 life size figures. Another very interesting is Light Dispelling Darkness a fountain located in Menlo Park in Roosevelt Part, N.J. This fountain consists of the four horsemen of the apocalyse and Gregory added two more horsemen, Greed and Materialism.
I feel priviledged and appreciate the many mesages I receive from students; thanking me and also wanting more info for their college papers. I also receive international email and one was a professor from Russia. He sent me his url and I had a chance to view his students works. Another very interesting one was from a student from Turkey. She has no funds but would like to have the Gregory works shown in her Country. So if there's anyone out there??
They are available for exhibition; at a no charge basis but for transportation and insurance. If interested; email me.
Hopefully, I can figure out how to get another home page with more of the Gregory works; I uploaded one but it never got published. It doesn't take long to figure out why -- I will have to cut out some of the photos, etc. Its so hard to figure out what to cut. Will see you soon.

My interests are; art, art and the computer
I enjoy reading and correlating material with the conversations I had with Waylande Gregory; the many talks with his wife and with the Gregory papers. I enjoy writing so that students, teachers and museums can have the information about this early ceramic sculptor.
